Who won the last The Sportsbet Rugby League World Cup?

The 2017 Rugby League World Cup was the fourteenth staging of the Rugby League World Cup. It was held in Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea between 27 October and 2 December 2017. The tournament was won by Australia, who beat England 6-0 in the final at Lang Park in Brisbane.

This was the first time that Australia had won the World Cup on home soil, and the first time that any nation had won back-to-back World Cups since Great Britain did so in 1972 and 1974. In total, fourteen nations competed in the tournament, including first-time qualifiers Lebanon and Greece.

Samoa and Tonga also made their return to the World Cup after missing out in 2013.  The tournament was widely praised for its competitiveness, with close games and upsets throughout. Ultimately, it was a fitting end to what has been an outstanding Rugby League World Cup.
